GOLF TOURNAMENT: The Willie Davenport Celebrity Golf Tournament will be held Friday, Feb.2 at the Metropolitan Golf Links in Oakland. The format is a four-player scramble, and most foursomes will include a track and field celebrity. The event is named for the late hurdling star, who competed at four Olympics, won a gold medal in 1968 and was among the first big-name athletes to lend his support to the Union City track clinic. Registration is $150. Proceeds benefit Special Olympics, Olympians in Need and local track and field teams. For information, call Vivian DeSano at (650) 438-3837.

TRACK CLINIC: The Willie Davenport Olympic track clinic will take place Saturday, Feb.3, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. at the James Logan High track. Olympians scheduled to participate include Mike Powell, Dick Fosbury, Tommie Smith, John Carlos, Eddie Hart, Mac Wilkins, Suzy Powell and Billy Mills. EVENING OF CHAMPIONS: A formal dinner will be held Saturday, Feb.3, 6:30-10 p.m. at the new Union City Sports Center. Tickets are $60 each or $600 per table, with an elite or Olympic athlete at each table. Call Ron Mickle at (408) 229-8854.
