DITC AND AFRICAN ATHLETICS CONFEDERATION CO-HOSTING
THE AFRICAN JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIPS ”TUNIS 2005”
TUNIS, SEPTEMBER 1-4, 2005

ATLANTA - PARIS - TUNIS – On the heels of two successful Editions (2004 and 2004) of the DeKalb International Prep Classic where US and international Junior records were set, Atlanta’s DITC is now embarking on another kind of Junior Championships, this time at the continental level with TUNIS 2005.

General Younès Chetali, President of the Tunisian Athletics Federation and VP of the Tunisian Olympic Committee, and President of the TUNIS 2005 Organizing Committee is expecting 500 athletes representing most of the 53 African countries’ Athletic Federations.

During TUNIS 2005, the DITC will also organize a Track & Field workshop to present the DITC, its athletics programs and training facilities, as well as the educational opportunities for Junior African athletes to come train and study in Atlanta.

“In 2003 the AAC and DITC signed an cooperative agreement, this is excellent opportunity for AAC to work with our friends in Atlanta at the DITC on quality championships where the future African Olympians will be competing,” said General Younès Chetali. “We hope that HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco whom we invited, will find time in his busy schedule to briefly attend Tunis 2005.”
