Basketball Camp Description

 

 

Learn the Skills That Make Outstanding Players

 

The John Chaney-Sonny Hill Basketball Camp offers a week of instruction from July 29 to August 2 and from August 5 to August 9.The camp is held on Temple University’s Ambler Campus in suburban Philadelphia. The wooded campus is 5 minutes away from exit 26  of the Pennsylvania Turnpike and is also quickly accessible from Route 309 or the Northeast Extension of the Turnpike.

The camp is open to boys and girls 9 to 18 years of age who have not graduated from high school. Campers can enroll for one or both sessions.

COMPETITION AND LEAGUE PLAY
All campers will be divided into teams for organized league play every evening. You will get an opportunity to practice the techniques you learn during the day. whatever your level of skill, daily games will enable you to develop as a team player, making you more valuable in team competition. 

INDIVIDUAL ACHIEVEMENT REPORTS
You will receive an individual rating and personalized account of your accomplishments during your week.

 

AWARDS
Each camper will be given an official John
Chaney-Sonny Hill Camp T-shirt. There will be individual awards for dribbling, shooting, rebounding, hustIing, defensive playing, most improved player and best attitude. An MVP award, as well as team awards, will be given for winners in each division.
ACCOMMODATIONS
Campers stay in double rooms in the attractive, modern dormitories on the Temple University, Ambler Campus. Counselors are on duty 24 hours a day. Facilities include gymnasiums, both indoor basketball courts, and a swimming pool.

Campers' health and safety are of prime importance. There is a resident nurse, and a local physician is always on call.

Tuition includes three meals a day served in the dining hall, in addition to a snack break. Vending machines are also available.

Tuition is $395 per week. A $50 deposit is required for each one week period. The deposit is refundable only if the camper is not accepted. The balance for both sessions is due July 16th.
