A large re-union will be held in Melbourne, Australia in November 2006 to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the 1956 Olympics. A committee has been working on the project for over 12 months now.

The re-union is endorsed by the Australian Olympic Committee and will be managed by the Committee for the Victorian Olympic Council. Our committee includes Kevan Gosper (IOC Member), Jim Barry (AOC Member), and myself Leon Wiegard (President of the Olympians Club of Australia) and representatives from the City of Melbourne, State Government and the Olympic Park Trust.

The events will include a large dinner on 20 November 2006, a re-enactment of the opening ceremony and a large concert at the Olympic stadium (The MCG) which will cater for all demographic groups.

Meanwhile, perhaps all 1956 Olympians, Officials, Trainers and visitors should keep November 2006 free in their diaries.
